Brown brother
Standing on the stage was a Mt Roskill grammar prefect, Joshua Iosefo preparing to say his talk. It came to the time where he had begin his speech but instead he had written up a poem called “Brown Brother”.While he was saying it some people were inspired. One of his friends put up his poem on Youtube where we were lucky that it came to the attention of Campbell Live.
The title of his poem was "Brown Brother".He started his poem off with describing about his colour skin then he got into his main message it was to not listen to stereotypes, stereotypes is about a group of people whereby we attribute a set of characteristics to the group. In part of the poem it relates to our Point England School korero (it our way to succeed ) which are : Champions Never Give Up, Strive to Succeed and most of all Herenga ki te Whetu which means Reach for the Stars .He also mentioned that some positive things about stereotype like we all love P.E,music, dance and drama.
When I watched it I thought I knew the meaning will be that we should not limit ourselves and try our best, also to not be afraid to change and that you don't need to be like everybody else because if you do you won’t have a chance to shine. I felt inspired watching him saying that poem.

Netball Mania!
"Come and get your uniform ready and meet us at the court at 6" our coach Roslyn said.
Every Tuesday night our year 6 to 8 netball girls go down to the court to play a game of netball but for the year 4 and 5's they play every Thursday night.
This week our year 8 team 1, had a late game which gave us a chance to play against Baradene. In the end, the score ended up being 15-14 but the main thing was, we had fun!
On the first quarter of the game my position was GD (goal defence), I didn't like who I was defending because she was taller then me so my goal was to try not to step and to get the ball off the other team. As soon as the game started we all had to run to our started position.
I really didn't feel like playing in front of the supporters because there was a lot of them but I had to play I tried really hard in the first half but I couldn't keep up with my partner because she was way fitter then me.
So on the 2nd quarter I had to sub out to watch what my partner was trying to do. By then we were starting to catch up to them cause they were winning and we were doing some good defend.
There were 4 quarters and this was the 3rd quarter that I hop back to the game. This time I wasn't GD I had to be a GA(goal attack). I wasn't proud of myself on the court because I knew I could play better but I choose not too.
Well I reckon that the last quarter was hard because that when us teams had gone best I had to go on goal shoot because Tina had to go off we had quite a good game trying our best but we had lost by 1 point. Hope to win on our next game.

Picasso and henry's artwork
Henri Matisse was born on december 31, 1869 in Northern france but had sadly he died on november 3th 1954. Picasso was born on October 25,1881 in Spain he was a first child of an art father and a mother called maria lopez and he died April 8th 1973.
Henry and Picasso shared the same subject but conveyed different messages. Henri's one was called 'Women with the Hat' and Picasso's painting was called 'Weeping women'. In this piece of writing I am going to point out the differences and similarities. In their painting Picasso and Henri is showing that it is about sadness, war and anguish however, Henri’s painting shows that his wife has a mixture of feelings.
Picasso's colour is mainly with reds/yellows ,Henris has a great number of colours he also had shadings.
matisse really does not have much lines , he only has the outline black and inside of him he has diffrent kind of colour he also has shades to each of them.
So i think that by Matisse and Picasso painting are a bit similar to each other

At the pools
Dashing up the stairs to get in line, I was laughing and scrambling as fast as I could. “ Ha ha we’re here,” I said to Athena.
As we were waiting in line more people came up and pushed in. So Athena and I pushed in front of them. The year 7 boys laughed.
“Yeah! “ I said while eagerly waiting for the green light to go on. A flash of green, and with careful aim I slid into the dark tunnel to go down. I was twisting and turning with fear as I was dying to get out. At last I saw a bright light coming towards me. I was full of excitement because I was finally out of the tunnel.
